130th Andrew Family Reunion

The 130th annual Andrew Family Reunion featured a pig roast, the 3rd annual Andrew Family Classic, a search effort for a lost (hiding) boy and roughly 95 family members stretching from Ohio to Florida to Upstate New York.
The 130th reunion planning committee consisted of Matt Andrew, Marge Pierce (Andrew), Les Andrew, Eddie Andrew and Liz Noble. The committee met a couple of times prior to reunion in order to make plans for an expected large crowd. Reunion featured a weekend of games, camping and food. There were roughly 10 groups of people camped near the pavilion Friday and Saturday night. Friday night featured a relaxing evening of grilling food, drinks, and a bonfire. Saturday featured a pig roast, auction, and the Andrew Family Classic.
The Classic winners were Anthony DePoto, Jake DeLardi, Carly Andrew, JT Thomas, Kim Andrew Halstead, Sarah Andrew and Dylan Robinson.
There was a brief scare when 6 year old Jackson Staley, great grandson of Esther Andrew Coutts, grandson of Barbara Coutts Staley, and son of Peter Staley went missing from reunion. A search effort went on throughout the reunion grounds and into the woods for about 25 minutes. The family was close to alerting authorities when another child opened up a cooler container and found Jackson playing hide and seek. Saturday night featured more grilling and laughs around a bonfire. Sunday morning Robert Andrew provided a sermon at the pavilion around 10am.
The family had its annual meeting and new family committee members were announced. Kim Andrew Halstead is President, Eddie Andrew is Vice President, Matt Andrew is Historian, Megan Andrew is Secretary and Scott Andrew is Treasurer. Family dues were voted on to be increased from $5 to $10.
Family News
On Saturday June 3, 2017 Leslie Andrew Jr. (Butch) and Janet Andrew celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Manchester Country Club. It was hosted by their three children: Barbara, Kim and Chris. Barbara made a display of Leslie and Janet’s wedding pictures, Kim became a minister online and had them renew their vows and Chris supplied a flower bouquet for Janet and a boutonniere for Les.
Salina Wilson, daughter of Mark Wilson, son of William Wilson Jr. and son of Jane Andrew Wilson was married July 1, 2017 to Justin Cobb in Vermont. Their 3 year old son Teagan was ring bearer. They reside in Weston, VT.
Lucy Lin DePoto was born on January 15th, 2017. She is the granddaughter of Russell Andrew and Linda Andrew, and the child of Katie Andrew DePoto and Anthony DePoto. Fun fact, she came a little quicker than expected and was born in the Danbury birthing center parking lot into 20 degree F weather, all is well.
Matt Andrew, son of Franklin B. Andrew (Tim) and Joan Andrew got engaged to Hillary Federico on June 6, 2017 in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada while on vacation. Their wedding is set for October 7, 2018.
