131st Andrew Family Reunion

2018 Historian’s Report

August 4, 2018

Grace was said before lunch and potluck began at 1pm.  The meeting was called to order by Kim Halstead at 2:07pm  A moment of silence was held to remember family members and friends that passed away recently.  One person from each family/household gave a brief introduction.  The secretary’s report was accepted as read (sent out prior by email).

Scott Andrew read the Treasurer’s report and stated the balance as of August 4, 2018 was $1,975.  The Treasurer’s Report was accepted as read.

Matt Andrew read the Historian’s report and it was accepted as read.

Matt Andrew made a brief announcement regarding the Andrew Family Classic

Old Business:

Bobby addressed why the reunion originally began on the anniversary of Samuel and Celina Andrew.

New Business:

• A motion was made and seconded, change invites to evites or google form to RSVP and to sign up to bring food (motion passed).

• A motion was made and seconded to get one outhouse on off years and 2 on 5 year anniversaries.  (Marge Pierce volunteered to be responsible for the out houses so the motion was properly referred).

• A motion was made and seconded that we invite the ice cream man every year to the reunion and we leave it up to him to decide if he wants to attend.  Marge volunteered to call the ice cream man at 2:30 on the day of the reunion to invite him and tell him the amount of people who attended. (motion passed)

Additional Announcements:

•  46 people were in attendance 

• Oldest was Bobby Andrew at 84 years old

• Youngest was Lucy DePoto at 1 year old

• Farthest traveler was John Andrew from Florida

• Someone announced that they wanted to get physical copies of digital pictures to store in the safe

• Someone announced that it would be beneficial to get updates on family twice a year.

The meeting adjourned at 2:47pm.
